Ford Care Code - Our management of Covid 19

Our policy for selling and servicing your car in a safe manner.

As per the Government announcement, we are now able to re-open our showroom for new and used car sales from Monday June 1st.

Our service department is already open and we have done all we can to make sure that we are looking after our customers and staff as safely as possible.

All of our colleagues have access to PPE as required and have been through safety training in relation to COVID 19.

A one-way pedestrian system has been introduced in the service department to assist in the safe process of customer movements.

We do offer a click and collect service for car collection as required, whether it’s for sales or service.

Our delivery service, which we would talk you through, is a safe process for the handling of documentation and keys etc, including the sanitizing of your car prior to your acceptance of it.

All of our premises have been deep cleaned prior to re-opening and they are regularly cleaned during the day, toilets, door handles, work areas etc. are all cleaned on a set rota basis.

Each of our desks have protection screens and are wiped down between customer visits.

We are adhering to the 1 metre social distancing rules, we have circular markers on the floor and request that you help us by adhering to these rules. Handshaking has been suspended in the current climate.

We have fitted protective screens to our service reception and parts counters to ensure both you and our colleagues can interact safely.

Sanitizer is available throughout the building, as you enter and also on exit. Unfortunately, our superb coffee machine is turned off and we don’t have at present any complimentary drinks on offer.

All sold cars undergo a valet procedure and will be sanitized prior to any handover.

We can also offer video technology to show a live feed of cars either new or used as required. This can also be used to value a part exchange car that you may have to show to us remotely.

Service cars are sanitized prior to working on them. Our staff are maintaining safe distance and we have re arranged rest rooms and dining areas to ensure safe distancing from colleagues.

We can offer unaccompanied test drives subject to management discretion. This will be vehicle dependent in certain instances. To take advantage of this we would need your driving licence, a recent proof of address (i.e. utility bill) and passport.

These documents will be safely kept on site during your test drive.

We would also need your national insurance number to confirm your current driving licence status. Customers can opt to give us permission remotely to check their licence.

Please ask for more information if required.

Following the Government’s guidance we are now able to confirm the following in relation to the wearing of face coverings.

Under the guidelines issued by the UK Government, car dealerships fall within the description of ‘Shops and Branches'.

Therefore from Monday 28th September we would ask all customers to wear face coverings when entering either the SALES or SERVICE departments and abide with the social distancing guidelines as set out by the UK Government.

It is important to note that some of our customers may be exempt from wearing a face covering.

The conditions under which this may apply are listed below;

  • young children under the age of 11
  • not being able to put on wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
  • if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause them severe distress
  • if they are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
  • to avoid harm or injury, or the risk of harm or injury, to themselves or others
  • to avoid injury, or to escape a risk of harm, and they do not have a face covering with them
  • to eat or drink, but only if they need to
  • to take medication
  • if a police officer or other official requests they remove the face covering

Thank you for your assistance in helping to reduce the spread of the Covid 19 virus.
